 Smooth-Cast® 325 Colormatch™ For True Color Representation |
Smooth-Cast® ColorMatch® plastics are fast-cast resins that were developed specifically for adding color pigments and fillers to achieve true color representation or filler effect. The ColorMatch® Series is formulated "color neutral". Small amounts of pigment will yield accurate, vivid colors from cured castings (use of Smooth-On SO-Strong® pigments is highly recommended). Because of its neutral color, the ColorMatch® Series is ideal for creating marble and wood grain casting effects, or duplicating the look of real metal by adding bronze, brass or other metal powder (see Smooth-On technical bulletin for metal cold casting). - Smooth-Cast® 325 ColorMatch® - 10 minute demold time

| Plasti-Paste™ II Trowelable Plastic |
 Plasti-Paste™ II Trowelable Plastic |
An IMPROVED formulation of Plasti Paste. New Plasti-Paste® II is a two component fiber-filled resin that holds a vertical surface without sagging and cures to a strong, durable and lightweight plastic. Liquid material can be pigmented with So-Strong® color tints from Smooth-On. This plastic can be used for creating themed environments or special effects, used as a "mother mold" material to reinforce rubber molds and a variety of other applications. This plastic is also a powerful adhesive and can be used as a repair material for a variety of industrial applications. Cured plastic can be sanded, machined and painted with acrylic enamel paints.
Plasti-Paste® II offers the following advantages over the original: - Cured plastic can be primed and / or painted with acrylic enamel paints. The original formula could not. Application possibilities for go far beyond making support shells (mother molds). Plasti-Paste® II can be used to fabricate displays for themed environments, create special effects and or as a versatile art medium.
- The Plasti-Paste® II is harder, more rigid and stronger vs. the original Plasti-Paste®. It can be shaped, machined, sanded, drilled, etc.
- Savings . . . because cured Plasti-Paste® II is harder, you can use less material when making a support shell (mother mold) over a brush-on rubber mold. This saves you money.
- Cured plastic has a higher heat distortion temperature vs. the original Plasti-Paste®. Larger molds stored in warm environments are not as susceptible to distortion.
OTHER DIFFERENCES vs. Original Plasti-Paste: - New Mix Ratio: The mix ratio for Plasti-Paste® II is 1A:2B by volume (57A:100B by weight).
- Mix-ability: The Part B (paste) is much drier vs. the original Plasti-Paste Part B. Mixing Parts A and B is initially more difficult vs. the original Plasti-Paste. Once Parts A and B are combined, the material mixes easily. Mechanical mixing using a ‘turbine' mixer drill attachment makes mixing very easy.
- Packaging: Because of the new mix ratio, the packaging configuration is different vs. the current Plasti-Paste®.For example, a 5 gallon unit is comprised of 1 x 5 gallon bucket of Part A and 2 x 5 gallon buckets of Part B. Total weight of the unit; 126 lbs. (57.15 kgs.).
SIMILARITIES: - Plasti-Paste® II holds a vertical or inverted surface as well as original Plasti-Paste ®.
- Plasti-Paste® II has no odor.
- The working time (10 minutes) and cure time (90 minutes) of Plasti-Paste® II is the same as the current Plasti-Paste®.
- The price/lb. (price/kg.) of Plasti-Paste® II is the same as the original Plasti-Paste®. But as mentioned earlier, you can use less material and save money.
- Cured plastic is hard and very tough. Casting thicknesses of at least 3/8" (1 cm) will not break if dropped from a height of 6'(2m), for example.
- Cured plastic can be machined, sanded, drilled, etc.
- Plasti-Paste® II is a tenacious adhesive, and the fact that it can be applied to a vertical or inverted surface makes this product unique for specialized bonding and repair applications.
