Smooth-On’s IT department has developed a free “app” that can be downloaded to your Apple iPhone® or iPod Touch®.
 The app is a pocket version of our popular material calculator for most Smooth-On rubbers and plastics. It allows you to make ‘on the fly’ calculations to determine the amount of material you need for your project from wherever you are with your iPhone® or iPod Touch®.
Enter the dimensions of your mold box and original model (for mold making) or mold cavity (for casting) and determine how much rubber or plastic you need for your project.
You need to provide the specific gravity for the material you are considering using for your project. This number is listed on the product technical bulletin which you can find at www.smooth-on.com.
How Do I Get the App?
The app has been available for some time. So far, thousands have downloaded it without it being announced. We hope you find it a useful tool and encourage your comments and suggestions.
