Carnegie Hall is a concert venue in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Built by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie in 1891, it is one of the most famous venues in the United States for classical music and popular music, renowned for its beauty, history and acoustics. Carnegie Hall has its own artistic programming, development, and marketing departments, and presents about 100 performances each season. In 1983 the building was extensively renovated and Smooth-On mold rubbers were there to help. Large panels of the front façade with restored to the original look using PMC® - 724 mold rubber. This inexpensive rubber was thicken to a paste-like consistency for the vertical surface applications and cured to a durable rubber with negligible shrinkage.
