Caribbean Cast Stone Inc. Adds A Touch Of Class To A New Plaza In Puerto Rico

Caribbean Stone Inc. began construction on a new $10 million plaza in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Production manager Edwardo Nunez called upon Smooth-On to find out what he could use to make molds of his hand carved ornamental pieces, which are going to placed in the front walkway of the main entrance. He was introduced to VytaFlex® 30 urethane mold rubber, which has superior physical and performance properties for casting concrete. Caribbean Cast Stone were extremely pleased with the performance of Smooth-On's rubber and continued to use the rubber on other projects in and around Puerto Rico.

Caribbean Cast Stone hand carved all the ornamental pieces for the new plaza.	A mold maker seals the original model with SuperSeal® and then applies Universal® mold release prior to pouring VytaFlex® 30 mold rubber.	VytaFlex® 30 urethane mold is seated in the support shell. In And Out® II concrete release agent is applied before casting concrete.
VytaFlex® 30 is an extremely durable rubber that will produce many concrete castings.	Finished castings ready to be shipped.
