A historic Nativity set was in severe disrepair. Barry Hoch from Creative Signs and Designs was called in to fix the beetle damage that had been done to this nearly century-old display. With Christmas coming, the repair needed to be made fast. Epoxamite resin with 101 FAST hardener was used to both fill in bug-damaged areas and coat newly created pieces to resist future insect attacks. Thanks to Epoxamite resin, the project will be a long lasting testament to the history of this holiday display.
"Thank you very much for letting me experiment with your awesome product. It performed to perfection. It made the old bug infested oak stronger than when it was new. I will definately use your products again in the future. I will send you more photos of the whole stable when we put it up in about a week."
Barry Hoch, Creative Signs and Designs
1 - The beetle damaged areas were blasted out with high pressure air.
2 - A dam is created around the damaged areas using tape.
3 - The damaged areas are filled with Epoxamite Epoxy resin.
4 - The cured Epoxamite is sanded to match the surrounding wood.
5 - New pieces are cut to size, hand hewn to look old, and then coated with Epoxamite to keep out any future bug attacks.
6 - Once the repaired areas are stained, the integrity of this historic Nativity is restored.
