Sculptor James Day Expresses His Visionary Realism

James Day was born in Kansas in 1970. Being the son of an artist he inevitably became an artist himself. He started from a young age working with clay, kilns, and eventually casting and creating his own limited editions.

To create the molds for the sculptures below, James used PMC-744 urethane rubber, OOMOO 30 tin-cure silicone rubber and Mold Max 30 tin-cure silicone rubber over clay. The castings were made using Smooth-Cast 326, sand and portland cement, then painted with acrylic paints and finished with acrylic sealant.
