College Seminars & Student Discounts
Smooth-On partners with teachers and students at colleges and universities worldwide to show how liquid rubbers, plastics, foams, and other materials can be used for mold making, casting, and countless creative and industrial applications. We support educators and schools in two ways: discounts for the college community, and hands-on mold making and casting seminars held right on your campus.

On-Campus Mold Making and Casting Seminars
Smooth-On and its distributors conduct "how-to" seminars at your venue that introduce students to the fundamentals of working with mold making and casting materials. Each seminar covers:
- The basics of mold making and casting
- The different materials available for making molds
- The different materials available for casting
- How to work successfully with these materials
- How these materials are used in studios and industries around the world
Seminar Format
Seminars run 2 to 4 hours and are presented in an easy-to-understand format with slides, video, and hands-on demonstration of materials. Student questions are encouraged throughout.
What Your School Needs to Provide
Each class requires a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 30 students. If your college can provide audio/visual equipment to broadcast the seminar onto a large screen, attendance is not limited. You will also need to supply two 8' tables and one large garbage can.
