Smooth-On Donates Hand Sanitizer To Local Hospitals and Nursing Homes

Smooth-On, Inc., a manufacturer of liquid rubbers, plastics, foams and more located in Macungie, PA has repurposed one of its large mixing vessels to make hand sanitizer in accordance with WHO and FDA formula guidelines.  The first recipients from the inaugural production batch are local hospitals and nursing homes who are receiving cases of hand sanitizer at no charge.

Smooth-On Vice President, Clay Western, states that “we enjoy long standing relationships with local hospitals and have hosted many medical personnel at our facility for product training over the years as it relates to medical device prototyping.  Our first calls were to them to let them know that we had the product and it was theirs free of charge.    We have also reached out to nursing homes affected by the virus and will be delivering cases of hand sanitizer to them as well”.

Smooth-On remains open during the COVID-19 crises as an “essential” Pennsylvania manufacturer for supplying materials used to make respirators, ventilators and other medical devices.
